3rd Annual
Mothers Day March
May 7, 2022  1PM    Pennington, NJ    5K
RESCHEDULED DUE TO RAIN -- STAY TUNED FOR NEW DATE

We will gather together to mark the loss of countless lives, and to stand unified in our assertion that BLACK LIVES MATTER. We demand equal protection under the law, and justice for victims and their families. We assert that we are done with deaths at the hands of white supremacists, and we demand that they, and those who will protect them, be held accountable.

We are sourcing compassion and resources for the benefit of Mamas and the people they love who have been impacted by violence, tragedy, the disparities within our criminal justice system, and all manners of injustice.

As promised, this year you get to choose the beneficiary of your offering. As Mamas, our hearts have been broken by the images we have seen over the past few months of the death and destruction in the Ukraine AND as Mamas we understand that this brand of oppression has been happening ALL OVER THE WORLD without an equitable outpouring, so we have chosen one of our beneficiaries with this in mind.

Women for Women International (womenforwomen.org) "invests in women survivors of war and conflict, providing them with social and economic skills to transform their own lives. Women pass their knowledge to those around them, creating a more just world—a world where every woman’s voice, role, and contribution are visible and valued."

As Mama's we also understand that there are atrocities occurring right here in this country. 84.3% percent of Native women have experienced some form of violence in their lifetime.  56% have experienced sexual violence. 97% of those women are experiencing these acts of violence at the hands of a non-Native perpetrator. These numbers are daunting and so we chose, as our second beneficiary, National Indigenous Women’s Resource Center (niwrc.org).   NIWRC is "providing national leadership to end violence against American Indian, Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian women by lifting up the collective voice of grassroots advocates and offering culturally grounded resources, technical assistance and training, and policy development to strengthen tribal sovereignty."

The 2.23 mile route is TBD, updates will be shared on this page. Stay tuned for details.  Signs with messages supporting the movement are welcomed. Please remember to bring your own reusable (and full!) water bottle to stay hydrated!

We encourage all marchers to invite friends and family to sponsor their walk, to help raise funds for our beneficiaries. And yes, you are welcome to just sponsor yourself :) You can print an (optional) sponsor sign-up sheet here

Please register below to become a walker, and used the attached form to collect sponsorships.
